Use quality rice and store in an
appropriate place
● Freshly polished well-sorted rice grains are
recommended.
● Store rice in cool, dark and well-ventilated place.
Cooking rinse-free rice
● Use the supplied measuring cup to measure rinse-
free rice.
● After pouring water on rice in the inner pot, stir rice
well from the bottom so that all grains can absorb
water well. If you skip stirring, grains cannot absorb
water well resulting in poor texture.
● If the poured water is cloudy, rinsing rice and
changing water once or twice is recommended.
The cloudiness is due to starch contained in rice,
not due to bran. If you cook without rinsing, rice
may burn, boil over or be poorly cooked.
Note
Do not mix in amaranths or other small grains that may
cause clogging.
Doing so may cause the clogged pressure adjusting hole,
safety valve or pressure reducing hole, which may lead to
steam leak or boiling over resulting in burn or injury.
2
Pre-rinse rice
(You can use the inner pot).
Put rice in the inner pot, pour sufficient amount
of water, stir rice lightly and drain water quickly.
Use water as cold as possible. Quickly finish pre-
rinsing, or rice may absorb surface contaminant
dissolved into the water.
(Stir rice lightly)
(Drain water quickly)
Note
Do not pre-rinse rice with hot water
(approximately 35°C or more).
Otherwise rice may not be cooked well.
Basic Procedure
Cooking Rice
3
Rinse rice.
Repeat rinsing rice and changing water a few
times until the water becomes less cloudy.
If rice is not rinsed well, it may burn to the
bottom of the inner pot.
