Important Safeguards
Do not connect or disconnect the
power plug with wet hands.
Doing so may result in electric shock or injury.
Do not expose the power plug to
steam.

When using the rice cooker
on a sliding tabletop, position
the cooker so that the power
plug is not exposed to the
emitted steam.
Do not let infants or children lick the
electric sockets or fixtures.
Doing so may result in electric shock.
Never open the lid during cooking.
Doing so may cause the content to boil over
resulting in burn. If you need to open the lid,
check that the
Pressure
indication on the
operation panel is off and no steam is coming
out. → P.21
Do not allow children to use the rice
cooker unsupervised. Keep it out of
reach of infants.
Unsupervised use by children or infants may
result in burn, electric shock, or injury.
This appliance is not intended
for use by persons with physical
difficulties or lack of experience and
knowledge-unless they have been
given supervision or instruction
concerning to the use of the
appliance by a person responsible
for his/her safety.

Do not place your face or hands near
the steam cap or steam vent.
Doing so may result in burn. Be especially
careful to keep them out of reach of infants and

Do not immerse the rice cooker in or
splash it with water.
Doing so may result in short-circuiting or electric

Do not insert foreign objects such as
pins, needles or other metal objects
into the air inlet/outlet or a gap
between the parts.
Doing so may result in electric shock or in injury
due to malfunction.

When closing the lid, remove rice or
grains adhering to the upper casing
or around the hook, and close the lid
until it clicks.
Failure to do so may cause the steam to come
out or the content to boil over resulting in burn.
Do not use the rice cooker in
anyways not specifically covered
in this instruction manual (and the
supplied "COOKBOOK").
Doing so may cause the clogged pressure
adjusting hole, safety valve or pressure reducing
hole, and the content may boil over resulting in
burn.
<Examples of procedures that should not be
performed:>
• Heating ingredients or seasoning inside of
plastic bags, etc.
• Using a cooking sheet or other utensil to cover
food in the rice cooker
• Boiling beans separately before using them
for red rice etc.
• Cooking rice with amaranths or other small
grains that may cause clogging
• Cooking rice seasoned with ketchup or tomato
sauce
Stop using the rice cooker
immediately in the event of trouble.
Failure to do so may result in fire, electric shock,
or injury.
<Examples of trouble:>
• T h e p o w e r c o r d a n d / o r p l u g b e c o m e
abnormally hot.
• Smoke is emitted from the rice cooker or a
burning odor is detected.
• The rice cooker is cracked, or there are loose
or rattling parts.
• The inner pot is scratched or cracked.
• There are other problems or abnormalities.
Immediately disconnect the power plug from
the outlet and contact the place of purchase for
inspection and repair.
Caution
Disconnect the power plug from the
outlet when the rice cooker is not in
use.
Failure to do so may result in injury or burn,
or in electric shock or a shortcircuit-induced fire
due to degradation of the insulation.
Be sure to hold the power plug when
disconnecting the cord from an
outlet.
Failure to do so may cause an electric shock or
short-circuiting, resulting in fire.
Do not plug multiple
appliances into a
single outlet.
Doing so may result in fire.
Handle the rice cooker with care.
Dropping the rice cooker or exposing it to
a strong impact may result in injury or in
malfunction of the unit itself.
Household use only.
This appliance is intended to be used in
household and similar applications such as:
· staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other
working environments
· farm houses
· by clients in hotels, motels and other residential
type environments
· bed and breakfast type environments
Do not use on an unstable surface,
or on a table or rug that is vulnerable
to heat.
Doing so may result in fire or damage to the
table or mat.
Do not use near the wall or furniture.
S t e a m a n d h e a t m a y c a u s e d a m a g e ,
discoloration and/or deformation. Use the rice
cooker at least 12 inches (30cm) away from
walls or furniture.

Do not use the rice cooker in a small
space where steam mists over the
operation panel.
Otherwise moisture and heat of steam may
deform the operation panel and harm, discolor,
deform and damage the body.
When using the rice cooker
on a sliding tabletop, pull
out the table before starting
operation so that the rice
cooker is not exposed to the
emitted steam.
Do not use a sliding tabletop with
insufficient load bearing capacity.
Otherwise the rice cooker may fall resulting in
injury, burn or malfunction. Check that the load
bearing capacity is sufficient before use.
Do not use the rice cooker near
a heat source or where it may be
splashed with water.
Doing so may result in electric shock, short-
circuiting, fire, or deformation or malfunction of
the rice cooker.
Do not use the rice cooker when the
pressure adjusting hole, safety valve
or pressure reducing hole is clogged.
Doing so may cause steam leak or boiling over
resulting in burn or injury. Rice may not be
cooked well.
Do not use the rice cooker when the
tab of the inner lid is broken.
Doing so may cause steam leak or boiling over
resulting in burn or injury. Rice may not be
cooked well.
Do not cook with the inner pot empty.

Do not use the rice cooker on an
aluminum sheet or electric mat.
Aluminum material may generate heat resulting
in smoke or fire.
Do not use the rice cooker with the
air inlet/outlet blocked or in a hot

Doing so may result in electric shock, short-
circuiting, fire or malfunction.
