Names and Functions of Component Parts
Touch panel
All indications are shown for explanation.
Although blur may occur in the display due to static electricity, it is only a temporary phenomenon and not a malfunction.
Heat Setting key
Touch to adjust the heat level in the "Plain" and "Mixed"
menus. You can select from three levels.
Audio Guide key
Voice prompts guide you in operation.
Keep Warm key
Select whether to keep warm or not after cooking.
You can select from three options: KeepWarm Off,
KeepWarm On and KeepWarm 6Hours.
Select "Immediate KeepWarm" to start keepingwarm
again.
Rice Texture key(Hard/Soft)
Touch to select the rice texture in the "Plain" menu.
You can select from three levels.
Clock icon
Touch to set the clock.
Motion Sensor
The touch panel lights when the motion sensor detects
nearby movement.
Timer key
Touch to select the time to finish cooking.
You can select from four options: Timer 1, Timer 2, Timer
3 and Timer Soak.

Menu keys
The keys represent the available cooking menus
so that you can select the desired menu directly.

Next key
Touch to select the menu.
Hour
Min key
Touch to select the audio of audio guide or set the timer
or clock.
Menu icon
Touch to select the menu.
Clock display
After touching the clock icon, touch the numbers directly
to set the clock.
Cancel key
Touch to cancel the selection or setting.
Start/Rinse-free key
Touch to start cooking, select rinse-free rice or confirm
various settings (e.g., clock setting and audio guide
setting).
Using the touch panel
(Example) When "Plain" is selected.
Motion Sensor
The touch panel lights when the rice cooker detects
nearby movement. It displays information necessary for
use (operable keys only).
It goes off when not operated for a specified time
(approximately 20 seconds) and lights again when you
put a hand over the motion sensor. Depending on the
ambient temperature, the touch panel may not light even
when a hand is put over the motion sensor. In contrast,
it may light if the motion sensor is activated by steam or
illumination.
If it does not light, touch the display or key area.
Touch panel
Keys may not accept touching in the following cases:
• Keys are touched in very short intervals.
• The finger or key is wet or dirty.
• There is interference from the ambient temperature or
humidity, or the operation status of electric devices in
nearby area.
• The key is pressed strongly.
Note
Do not attach a sticker or put a mark with pen on the
touch panel (operation area). Doing so may slow the
response.
Dirt or sticky paste on the motion sensor may prevent
normal response. Wipe it off completely.
Sound during operation
The following sounds during cooking or keeping warm are
normal.
● A humming sound (caused by fan operation)
● A buzzing or crackle sound (caused by IH operation)
● A hissing or bubbling sound (caused by boiling)
When touching does not work
Check the following points when touching does not
work.
●The power plug is connected to the outlet.
Operation is not possible if the power plug is
disconnected from the outlet.
● The lid is closed.
When the lid is open, all keys do not accept touching to
prevent malfunction. Close the lid before operation.
●You touch with your finger.
Always touch the key with your finger directly.
●You are not touching a space between the
menus or not touching two or more keys at the
same time.
Touching two or more keys is not accepted to prevent
malfunction.
●You touch the operation area.
You cannot operate by touching other than the operation
area.

Clock display
The clock is 24-hour clock time. Set the clock to the right
time if it is wrong. see page
