Create array and spare drive
For our example, we will create a single RAID 5 array with one spare drive. To do this, first use the array
command as follows:|
array -a add -p1~15 -l "raid=5"
Then use the spare command to make a spare with drive 16:
spare –a add –p16
Finally, make sure the array, and the spare are there, use these two commands:
array
and
You will see a summary of the array just created. You can now exit the Vess management interface and return
to the text menu to configure storage settings for the VSky A1100bSM.
To exit Vess management, type:
exit
You will return to the Linux root menu. Now return to the text menu, again, you also type the command exit.
