Una colorazione biancastra,
bruciata, indica surriscaldamento
della candela causato da
carburazione troppo magra,
oppure accensione non corretta
con conseguente riscaldamento
eccessivo agli alti regimi.
Una colorazione nera,
fuligginosa, vetrosa, indica
carburazione troppo ricca,
oppure accensione difettosa.
Prima di procedere al
rimontaggio della candela
eseguire una accurata pulizia
degli elettrodi e dell'isolante
usando uno spazzolino metallico.
Regolare la distanza degli
elettrodi usando uno spessore
calibrato, non intervenendo
sull'elettrodo centrale. Applicare
qualche goccia di olio grafitato
sul filetto della candela e avvitare
a mano fino in fondo, quindi con
una chiave appropriata stringere
moderatamente.
(Coppia di serraggio 2-3 Kgm;
20-30 Nm; 14,5-21,7 ft/16).

White, dry, glassy looking
deposits indicate an overheated
plug, causing too weak air-fuel
mixture at hot running engine or
improper ignition timing.
A black, sooty deposit indicates
the air- fuel mixture is too rich, or
faulty ignition.
Before attempting to install the
spark plug, clean, using a small
metal brush or a sand blast
cleaner.
Adjust the gap with a feeler
gauge.
Check the condition of the
threads in the cylinder head and
plug. Apply a few drops of
penetrating oil on the plug
threads, and turn the plug by
hand until finger tight. Use spark
plug wrench to tighten the plug
until the gasket is compressed;
avoid overtightening.
(Tightening torque 2-3 Kgm; 20-
30 Nm; 14.5-21.7 ft/lb).

montre une surchauffe de la
bougie à cause d'une
carburation trop pauvre, ou un
allumage ne pas exact avec
surchauffe aux régimes élevés.
Une couleur noire, fuligineuse,
vitreuse, montre une carburation
trop riche, ou un allumage
défectueux. Avant de remonter la
bougie, nettoyer les électrodes et
l'isolant en utilisant une brosse
en métal.
Régler la distance des électrodes
en utilisant un épaisseurmètre,
sans intervenir sur l'électrode
central.
Appliquer quelques gouttes
d'huile graphité sur le filet de la
bougie et serrer à la main
jusqu'au bout; ensuite, avec une
clé adapte, serrer doucement.
(Couple de serrage 2-3 Kgm; 20-
30 Nm).
Eine hellbraune Färbung des
keramischen Isolierstoffs um die
Mittelelektrode bedeutet, dass
Vergasung, Zündung und
Kerzewärmewert korrekt sind.
Eine weisse, verbrannte Färbung
bedeutet, dass die Zündkerze
wegen einer zu armen Vergasung
heissgelaufen ist oder dass die
Zündung nicht korrekt ist; das hat
Überhitzung bei hohen Drehzahlen
zur Folge.
Eine schwarze, russige und glasige
Färbung bedeutet, dass die
Vergasung zu reich oder dass die
Zündung unregelmässig ist.
Bevor die Zündkerze wieder
eingeschraubt, wird Elektroden
und Isolierstoff mit einer
Metallbürste sorgfältig reinigen.
Elektrodenabstand mittels
Dickenmesser einstellen, wobei
man nicht auf der Mittelelektrode
arbeiten soll. Zündkerzengewinde
mit ein wenig Graphitöl
abschmieren und Zündkerze
zuerst von Hand einschrauben
und danach mit einem dazu
geeigneten Schlüssel
(Anziehdrehmoment 2-3 Kgm; 20-
30 Nm).
