9: Events Reporting Configuration

1) User Configuration of
Events And Actions
N
Rev 1 Nov.14

Introduction

Events Reporting allows you to generate reports or perform actions in
response to the events that are configured in the ALEOS software.
An Event is a measurement of a physical property AND a state
change or a threshold crossing. For example, radio module signal
strength (RSSI) is a physical property. A threshold crossing could be
set to -105 dBm. You can configure an Event which consists of the
RSSI with the -105 dBm threshold. There are many Events that can
be configured; these are described in detail below.
An Action is an activity which can be performed, such as sending an
email or an SNMP trap. For email reports, you can select the data to
be included.
Events and Actions work together. When an Event occurs (such the
state of a monitored physical property changing or a threshold being
crossed), it triggers the configured Action. For example, if you have
configured an RSSI Event, you can have a report (such as an email
or SNMP trap) sent when the threshold is crossed. This relationship
is shown conceptually in
