Adjustment and Setting

8.3.1
Edge Registration
The starting print position is determined by the "Lead Edge" and "Side Edge" offset data stored in mem-
ory. Do this adjustment when the main PBA is replaced or when MEMORY CLEAR is performed. Do it
also when the LSU is replaced if necessary.
Adjustment
Adjust the Lead Edge and Side Edge so that four lines are printed in each of the top and bottom, and
three lines are printed in each of the left and right of the PRINT TEST (PATTERN 1) as shown in the fig-
ure. The Lead Edge offset represents the distance from the top edge of the page.
The Side Edge offset represents the distance from the left edge of the page. Using the Edge Registra-
tion procedure, the lead edge offset positions can be adjusted from -7.5mm to +7.5mm and side edge
offset positions can be adjusted from -6.0mm to +8.0mm, in increments of 0.5mm.

Turn the power ON. Press the keys in the following order to perform the print test.
[MENU] → [9] → [2] → [0] → [7]

After the test pattern is printed, press the [STOP] key twice to exit to the standby mode.

Press the keys in the following order to enter the service mode.
[MENU] → [*] → [#] → [*] → [*]

Press the keys in the following order to enter the edge registration mode.
[MENU] → [9] → [5] → [0] → [6]

Use the [ ] or [ ] key to set the LEAD EDGE (upper side), then press the [ENTER] key.

Use the [ ] or [ ] key to set the SIDE EDGE (left side).

Press the [ENTER] key to complete the setting and return to the standby mode.

Print the test pattern again to check the print position.
