Making and receiving satellite calls

Before you can make and receive satellite calls, you must switch to the
satellite network. When using the satellite network, making and receiving
calls is the same as when using the cellular network.
On the satellite network, you cannot make an emergency call (for
NOTE
example, 911) without a SIM card.

Switching to the satellite network

Before switching to the satellite network, consider the following:
Position the back of the device toward a clear view of the southern sky.
Place your hand below the line on the back of the device.
The device does not switch between cellular and satellite
IMPORTANT
networks automatically.
1. To switch from cellular to satellite network, do one of the following:
Press
Tap
> Switch to Satellite.
On the Home screen, scroll to the Network manager applet and tap
Switch to Satellite.
