Locking the device with a password

You can prevent unauthorized use of your device by setting it to
automatically lock after a set period of time and by assigning a password for
unlocking.
Keep track of your password as it cannot be retrieved if
IMPORTANT
forgotten.
1. Tap > Settings > Lock, and select the Password tab.
2. Check the Prompt if phone unused for check box, and then select the
desired length of time from the drop-down list.
3. Select type of password from the Password type drop-down list.
• Simple PIN is a 4-digit password that uses only the numbers from 0
to 9.
• Strong alphanumeric is a password that can have uppercase and
lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols, such as punctuation marks.
4. Enter the password you want to use, and then confirm the password.
5. Select the Hint tab and enter a phrase that will help you remember the
password if you forget it. Make sure your hint does not allow other
people to guess your password.
6. Press and confirm the change.
