• Lower the ringer volume. For instructions, see "Changing the volume
level" on page 75.
• When synchronizing your device wirelessly, do it less frequently (for
example, once every hour or two, instead of every five minutes). For
instructions, see "Changing synchronization settings" on page 152.

Managing power settings

You can specify power settings for when your device is being operated on
battery power and for when the device is plugged into an external power
source.
1. Tap > Settings > Power, and select the Advanced tab.
2. Select the check box for each condition where you want the device
screen to turn off automatically, and then specify the time delay.
For optimal conservation, specify 3 minutes or less.

Setting the backlight delay

To conserve battery power, you can set the backlight to dim after a specific
amount of time.
1. Tap > Settings > System > Backlight, and select either the Battery
power tab or the External power tab.
