Software update

Use Software Update to configure automatic software update settings and
to manually check for available software updates and install them on your
phone.
Some updates may erase data you have entered. If this is the case, the

update process prompts you to back up your data before proceeding with
the installation. For more information on backing up data, see "Backing up
and restoring" on page 154.

Configuring settings for automatic software updates

Software updates are downloaded and installed automatically, allowing
your phone to always use the latest available version of the software. You
can select how often the phone should check if updates are available. When
an update is found, the phone asks you for confirmation on whether to
install it.
1. Tap > Settings > System > Software Update.
2. Select how often the phone should check for updates.

Performing a manual update

If you want to update the software outside the automatic update schedule,
a manual option is available. You can check for updates and then download
and install them.
