When option is selected, instead of using computer's Internet connec-
tion, the device uses own data connection, such as GPRS, WCDMA,
HSDPA or satellite connection.

Starting and stopping synchronization

1. Connect your device to the computer using USB or Bluetooth connec-
tion.
Synchronization starts automatically.
You do not need to connect your device to your computer if you

only use direct synchronization with the Exchange Server.
2. If synchronization does not start automatically, tap
• To synchronize using USB, tap Menu > Connections. Select USB from
the drop-down menu and press
• To synchronize using Bluetooth, tap Menu > Connect via Bluetooth.
3. To start synchronization manually, tap Sync.
4. To end synchronization before it completes, tap Stop.

Checking synchronization status

ActiveSync keeps synchronization status messages on a status page for you
to view at any time. You can view the status in one of the following ways:
• When an alert text is displayed on the ActiveSync main screen, tap the
alert text to open the status page.
