5.1.14 System Board

To remove the system board, complete the following steps:
1. Perform the preparation procedures described in Section 5.1.3.
2. Remove the system unit cover (Section 5.1.6).
3. Remove all expansion boards (Section 5.1.8).
4. Remove the riser board (Section 5.1.12).
It is not necessary to remove the riser brace to remove the system board.
If a replacement external battery is installed on the system board, do not unplug the battery from
the system board connector. Unplugging the external battery erases CMOS. Remove the external
battery from the hook-and-loop fastener on the drive cage and leave it attached to the system board
(Section 5.11).
5. Disconnect any cables plugged into the system board.
