Chapter 2: Configuring the hardware in the rack

Once the control network equipment is installed and connected, you must configure the media
server, the SNMP Module in the UPS (if Avaya supplied), and the SNMP Subagent in the Avaya
Ethernet switch (if Avaya provided). The SNMP components enable their hosts to send alarms
(traps) to the media server.
Configure the SNMP agents first, then install Avaya Communication Manager on and configure
the media server and verify its operation.
