CAM CHAIN TENSIONER AND GUIDE
CAM CHAIN TENSIONER
For driving the camshafts, two cam chain tensioners are used
on the respective cam drive chains. Unlock the ratchet mecha-
nism, and move the push rod in place to see if it slides smoothly.
If any stickiness is noted or ratchet mechanism is faulty, replace
the cam chain tensioner assembly with a new one.
The cam chain tensioner can be distinguished by the embossed
letters, "F" and "R", on the cam chain tensioners.
"F": Front (No. 2) cam chain tensioner
"R": Rear (No. 1) cam chain tensioner
CAM CHAIN GUIDE
Check the contacting surface of the cam chain guide for wear
and damage. If it is found to be damaged, replace it with a new
one.
Two kinds of cam chain guide are used on the respective cam
drive chains.
1: For front cylinder
2: For rear cylinder
