Cam Chain Guide / Cam Chain Tensioner
Removal and Installation
Removal
1) Remove the cylinder head cover. Refer to "Engine
Top Side Disassembly (Page 1D-25)".
2) Remove the cam chain guide No. 2 (1).

3) Remove the cylinder head. Refer to "Engine Top
Side Disassembly (Page 1D-25)" and "Engine
Bottom Side Disassembly (Page 1D-47)".
4) Remove the cam chain guide No. 1 (2) and cam
chain tensioner (3).
Installation
Install the cam chain guides/cam chain tensioner in the
reverse order of removal.

Cam Chain Guide Inspection

Inspect the cam chain guide in the following procedures:
1) Remove the cam chain guides. Refer to "Cam Chain
Guide / Cam Chain Tensioner Removal and
Installation (Page 1D-37)".
2) Check the contacting surface of the cam chain
guides. If it is worn or damaged, replace it with a new
one.
3) Install the cam chain guides. Refer to "Cam Chain
Guide / Cam Chain Tensioner Removal and
Installation (Page 1D-37)".

Cam Chain Tensioner Inspection

Inspect the cam chain tensioner in the following
procedures:
1) Remove the cam chain tensioner. Refer to "Cam
Chain Guide / Cam Chain Tensioner Removal and
Installation (Page 1D-37)".
2) Check the contacting surface of the cam chain
tensioner. If it is worn or damaged, replace it with a
new one.
3) Install the cam chain tensioner. Refer to "Cam Chain
Guide / Cam Chain Tensioner Removal and
Installation (Page 1D-37)".
