Engine Reassembly - Suzuki VZ800 Service Manual

ENGINE REASSEMBLY

Reassemble the engine in the reverse order of disassembly.
The following steps require special attention or precautionary
measures should be taken.
NOTE:
Apply engine oil to each running and sliding part before reas-
sembling.
SECONDARY DRIVE BEVEL GEAR
• Install the secondary drive bevel gear shim(s).
SHIM SELECTION 4-7
• Install the secondary drive bevel gear assembly and tighten
the retainer bolts to the specified torque.
NOTE:
Apply THREAD LOCK SUPER "1303" to the thread of the bolts.

 Secondary drive gear bearing retainer bolt:
COUNTERSHAFT/DRIVESHAFT
• Install the countershaft assembly and driveshaft assembly.
• Install the over driving gear 1 and bush 2.
23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
