Checklist B Procedures
Axle Extended Safety Limit Switches, LSFA1ES
and LSRA1ES
30 Start the engine from the ground controls and
lower the boom to the stowed position.
31 Turn the key switch to platform controls.
32 From the platform controls, drive the machine
in either direction and fully retract the axles.
Turn the machine off.
33 Choose an axle extend safety limit switch to
test.
34 Locate and disconnect the deutsch connector
to the axle extend limit switch.
35 Connect the leads from a multimeter with
continuity checking capability to pins 1 and
2 at the deutsch connector of the limit switch
cable.
Result: The limit switch should not have
continuity.
Result: The limit switch does have continuity.
The limit switch is faulty and needs to be
replaced.
36 Remove the multimeter leads and connect the
deutsch connector to the limit switch.
37 Repeat steps 34 through 36 for the other axle
extend safety limit switch.
38 Start the engine from the platform controls
and fully extend the axles. Turn the machine
off.

39 Choose an axle extend safety limit switch to
test.
40 Locate and disconnect the deutsch connector
to the axle extend limit switch.
41 Connect the leads from a multimeter with
continuity checking capability to pins 1 and
2 at the deutsch connector of the limit switch
cable.
Result: The limit switch should have
continuity.
Result: The limit switch does not have
continuity. The limit switch is faulty and needs
to be replaced.
42 Remove the multimeter leads and connect the
deutsch connector to the limit switch.
43 Repeat steps 40 through 42 for the other axle
extend safety limit switch.
