Trouble

Probable Cause
The transport system baffle
plates and operator-accessible
areas are not firmly closed.
There may be a foreign object
in the optical path.
AEC in wrong mode.
AEC offset incorrect.
Wrong film used.
Dust or dirt on mirrors or
imaging guides.
Lamps are dirty or not properly
installed.
Dust or dirt on DSA mirror or
lens.
Calibration is not performed or
is not performed correctly.
DSA lamps are dirty or not
properly installed.
Remedy
Repeat any recent jam clearing or
maintenance procedures, making
certain all baffle plates are firmly
in place and all operator-
accessible areas are properly
closed. Refer to "Clearing the
document path" later in this
chapter.
Check and clean imaging guides
and transport area. Refer to
Chapter 5, Maintenance.
Refer to Chapter 3, "Setting the
automatic exposure control".
Refer to Chapter 3, "Setting the
automatic exposure control".
Check for correct film type. Thin
film should be used in the Smart
Cassette 215; regular/thick film
should be used in the Smart
Cassette 100.
Check and clean imaging guides
and mirrors. Refer to Chapter 5,
Maintenance .
Check the lamps for proper
installation. Check for dirt or
debris in the lamp housing. Refer
to Chapter 5, Maintenance.
Check and clean imaging guides
