Positioning the
Patch Reader
Using the Patch
Reader

Before feeding documents containing patches, verify the following:
The Patch Reader is properly positioned.
Patch reading is enabled.
End-fed patch reading is enabled (if desired).
The patch code confirmation tone is enabled (if desired).
There are five locations for the Patch Reader.
NOTE: If patch reading is performed by a Document Scanning Array,
the following instructions do not apply.
The Patch Reader may be installed to read patches placed on the front
of the documents being processed.

To move the Patch Reader:
Lift the Patch Reader out of the current location and place it in the
desired location.
Be sure the patch placed on the document and the position of the
Patch Reader are aligned so the patch will be read properly.
