No film mode
A-14
When changing from "scanning without filming" (No film mode) to Film
mode, it is important to be sure that the correct film cassette is in the
scanner/microimager.
Check the film cassette to be sure it is the correct cassette for Filming
mode. If it is not the correct cassette, unexpected results may occur.
The mode information that is in the film cassette always overrides the
programmed mode.
The example below shows what can happen if you do not check the
cassette after using a No Film mode.
Example:
After using mode 10 in a No Film mode, the cassette door is
accidentally opened and closed, with a cassette (new or previous) in
the bay.
Suppose the information stored on the cassette is for mode 12.
You attempt to use the function code F01 to change to mode 13 (a
Filming mode). Mode 12 is loaded and displays all information
according to the cassette, rather than loading the mode 13 information.
Also, if you attempt to use the F91 function and link mode 10 IA to
mode 14 (a Filming mode), the unit loads mode 12 and displays all the
information according to the cassette, rather than loading the mode 14
information.
NOTE: If the cassette door remained closed while in the No Film
mode, the mode and link changes described above do not
occur. The unit performs as expected.
When you are in a No Film mode:
The film supply indicators are turned off.
Most film errors are not reported, if film errors are reported, the
scanner/microimager still operates.
Film cassettes are not required when in a No Film mode. If the film
cassettes are left in the scanner/microimager, they are not
changed or used.
An E104 "Function Not Available" message is displayed when the
following functions are used in a No Film mode:
