To clear the vertical transport area (Area D):
1. Open the top cover.
2. Open the right-side access door.
3. Turn the vertical baffle handle latch clockwise to unlatch the baffle
plate. Lower the baffle plate until it stops.
4. Remove any documents or document pieces.
5. Raise the plate into its original position. Turn the vertical baffle
latch clockwise to lock the baffle plate into position. Be sure the
baffle plate is securely locked into its original position.
6. Close the right-side access door and top cover.
