[TEL/FAX] Receiving Mode

The Tel / Fax is only sensible, if you are expecting conversation calls on
the same line. The Minoltafax 1800 answers the call and recognizes if it is
a fax call or a conversation call.
If a conversation call comes in, the machine shows this by max. 5 rings
and a corresponding message in the display. Lift the receiver within this
time and press [TALK] to talk to the person ringing.
If the incoming call is a fax call, it is recognised by the MINOLTAFAX
1800 and the fax machine begins to receive the data automatically

This mode allows you to operate the fax machine together with an
answering machine. In this case, conversation calls can be recorded on
the answering machine and fax calls are answered by the fax machine.
Press [MODUS/CLEAR] until "TAD" appears in the display. If the
answering machine is off, all calls must be answered manually (cf.
„Manual Receiving") or the fax machine must be switched to automatic
receiving. For this press [MODUS/CLEAR] until [FAX] appears in the
display.
