13. It may be necessary to insert a pause in the autodial sequence when
sending transmissions overseas in order that the international exchanges
have time to interconnect. For example, you may require a sequence of
010 "PAUSE" 1555677899 to transmit a fax message to your New York
office. To insert a pause, press the "PAUSE" key. One key operation
causes a pause of 4 seconds in the dialling sequence.

1.4.1 Mains Plug Wiring Instructions

This equipment is fitted with a moulded type mains plug incorporating a
detachable fuse cover, under no circumstances should the plug be used
without the fuse cover fitted. In the unlikely event of the socket outlet in
your home not being compatible with the plug supplied, cut off the mains
plug and fit an appropriate type observing the wiring code blow.
DANGER: The fuse from the cut-off plug should be removed and the plug
should be disposed of in a safe manner. Under no circumstances should
the cut-off plug be inserted into a socket outlet as a serious electric shock
may occur. If you are not sure how to do this, get help from a qualified
electrician.
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accordance with
the following code:
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this apparatus may not
correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your
plug, proceed as follows. The wire which is coloured GREEN-AND-
YELLOW must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked
by the letter „E", or by the safety earth symbol ===, or coloured green or
green and yellow.
The wire which coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is
marked with the letter N or coloured black.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter L or coloured red.
This appliance must be protected by a 13A fuse in the mains plug or
distribution board.
"WARNING: THIS EQUIPMENT MUST BE EARTHED."
