Collecting Hardware Log

This section describes which hardware information of the server needs to be collected.
• Recording phenomenon
• Recording occurrence status
• Checking operation status of the server and the server itself
• Checking event logs and suspected issues
• Checking removed parts
• Collecting Sensor information
• Collecting Service Processor LOG information
1.
Recording phenomenon
Record the phenomenon at a failure in detail such as system stall or reboot.
Record also the lighting conditions of EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor status LED and other
LEDs.
2.
Recording occurrence status
Record the status at a failure in detail.
Did the failure occur during the operation, at starting up or shutting down,
when some operation is executed or the operation was in process?
3.
Checking operation status of the server and the server itself
Following information checked on the analyzing procedure of failure.
· Status LED status of EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor.
· "View Faults" information of EXPRESSSCOPE® Monitor
· "System Summary" information
4.
Checking event logs and suspected issues
Following information checked on the analyzing procedure of failure.
· BID information of event log
IMPORTANT:
● It is recommended to collect failure information described below
before asking for a support in order for your maintenance
company to identify and remove failed point quicker.
For customers without support contract, collect the hardware log
before asking for a support.
