Tyre repair kit

Minor damag e to the tyre tread, e.g . from
foreign bodies, can be tem porarily
rep aired using the ty re repair kit.
Do not rem ov e foreign bodies from the
tyres. Damaged areas bigger than 4 m m
and da mage at the ty re rim cannot be
rep aired using the ty re repair kit.

Warning
Driv ing with tyre pressure that is too low
can cause invisible d amage to the ty res.
This dama ge c annot be remedied using
the tyre repair kit. Park v ehicle and
contact a workshop.
The tyre repair k it can be used to seal small
punctures with a liquid seala nt. Use of the
sealant does not c onstitute a permanent
rep air but is designed as an emergency
measure, to allow the vehicle to be driven
while awaiting tyre replacement.
The ty re repair kit ca n also be used to
infla te the tyres to the c orrect ty re pressure
(see page 180) without using the sea lant.

If you have a flat ty re:
z Park on a level, firm a nd non-slippery
surface.
z Sw itch on haz ard warning lamps, a pply
hand brak e, engage rev erse gear and
switch off engine.
z C orrectly set up the warning triangle 3.

Nev er use the liquid sealant on more than
one tyre at a tim e.
The tyre repa ir kit is loc ated in a stowag e
compartment on the driver' s side at the
rear of the lugg age compartment.
Remove the strap from the ty re repair kit by
pressing the tabs on either side of the
buckle a nd remove the ty re repair kit from
its foam container.
1. Place the tyre repair k it on level ground
and unwrap the sealant filling hose
from the compressor unit.
