X. PHENOMENA, CAUSES AND CORRECTIVE MEASURES
OF TROUBLE
Phenomenon
1. Belt loops cannot be cut.
2. Belt loops cannot be cut
neatly.
3. Loop is not cross-cut at
the center.
4. Belt loop clogs in the bind-
er.
5. Belt loop folding amount is
excessive or too small.
Cause
1. Moving knife fails to cut belt
loops sharp.
2. Moving knife and counter knife
fail to properly engage with each
other.
3. Moving knife drive cylinder fails
to work.
4. Position of the moving knife cyl-
inder sensor is shifted.
1. Blade of the moving knife/count-
er knife has worn out.
2. Mounting failure of the counter
knife.
3. Blade of the moving knife/count-
er knife is nicked.
1. The loop cutting position of
the knife for cutting the loop is
wrong.
2. Loop guide B is not high enough
and is pushing on the belt loop
when knife is rotated.
1. Inside measurement dimension
of the binder does not corre-
spond with the belt loop.
2. Moving knife does not fully go
up.
1. Folding amount on front side
Adjustment of the loop feeding
unit is not proper.
2. Folding amount on the rear side
Data value of item (BC) in the
adjustment screen is not proper.

Corrective measure
Grind the blade section of the
moving knife or replace the mov-
ing knife with a new one.
Check whether the the moving
knife collar setscrew has loos-
ened.
Check operation of cylinder or
solenoid valve, or check whether
air pipe is crushed.
Check operation of the sensor
and adjust the position.
Grind the blade of the moving
knife/counter knife or replace it
with a new one.
Refer to the item of "Adjusting
the width of belt loops". (Refer to
"VII-2. Adjusting the width of
belt loops"
P.37.)
Raise the height of loop guide B
to provide a clearance with the
belt loop.
Turn OFF the power switch and
remove the loop that clogs in the
binder.
Adjust the binder to the loop width
(splice section).
Check whether air pipe is
crushed.
Adjust the loop feeding unit.
Adjust and change the data of
(BC) value in the adjustment
screen.
