Solving Hardware Installation Problems

Cause
The Computer Setup utility
has not been run to configure
the new device.
Cable(s) of new external
device are loose or power
cables are unplugged.
Power switch of new external
device is not turned on.

Memory configuration may not
be set up correctly.
You have run out of memory
to run the application.
Solution
Install the correct printer driver for your application.
Reconnect all cables.
Check the paper tray and refill it if it is empty.
Select online.
Solution
Run the Computer Setup utility.
Ensure that all cables are properly and securely
connected and that pins in the cable or
connector are not bent down.
Turn off the computer, turn on the external
device, then turn on the computer to integrate
the device with the computer system.
Solution
Check your CONFIG.SYS file for the present
memory configuration and edit the file using a
text editor.
Check the application documentation to
determine the memory requirements.
