System limits
The braking effect of the electric motor during
recuperation in overrun mode may be reduced or
may not be available at all in the following situa-
tions:
when the high-voltage battery charge level
R
increases
if the high-voltage battery is not yet at a nor-
R
mal operating temperature
In these cases, the desired deceleration is set by
the brake control system.
Manually setting recuperative deceleration
You can use the steering wheel gearshift paddles
to manually adjust the intensity of recuperation in
overrun mode.

When the vehicle is started again, h is auto-
matically set as the recuperation level.
The following recuperation levels are available:
hà Intelligent and anticipatory recupera-

tion with ECO Assist (
page 203)

hq No recuperation: the vehicle coasts,

rolls freely
h Normal recuperation (standard setting)

h± Increased recuperation: increased

deceleration in overrun mode
To increase recuperation: briefly pull gearshift

paddle 1.
To reduce recuperation: briefly pull gearshift

paddle 2.
To select hÃ: pull and hold gearshift pad-

or 2.
The driver's display shows the currently selected
recuperation level next to the transmission posi-
tion display.
ECO Assist
ECO Assist function
ECO Assist is only an aid. It is not a substitute for
you paying attention to your surroundings and
does not relieve you of your responsibility pertain-
ing to road traffic law. The driver is responsible for
keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front,
for vehicle speed and for braking in good time.
