Setting Slave Node Addresses
In CompoNet communications, each Slave's node address must be set according to the following rules.
• Slaves are allocated to the allocation relay areas in order starting with node address 0.
• If the maximum number of occupied input or output words is greater than 1 word, the Slave occupies
more than one node address.
• If the maximum number of occupied input or output words is less than 1 word, the Slave occupies 1
word (node address).
• Node addresses can be distributed as long as the I/O area occupied by one Slave is not overlapping
with the I/O area occupied by another Slave that occupies more than one node address.
• Bit Slaves can be used only in communications mode 3 or 8, where Bit Slave allocation areas are
supported.
An example of configuring allocation relay areas in communication mode 1 is shown below. For each
slave, set the node address enclosed in brackets [ ].
