Torque Control Configuration

The type of Remote I/O described in this section provides the torque reference for torque control func-
tion, in addition to normal inverter speed control.
The Remote I/O functions described here can be used without the use of torque control. In this case,
the input/output function related to torque control is disabled.
Precautions for Correct Use
Precautions for Correct Use
If the inverter is set to the Light Load mode, torque reference input is prohibited and therefore
you cannot use Remote I/O with the torque reference enabled. Use another type of Remote I/O.
Torque Control Configuration Steps
To use torque control, the inverter must operate under vector control. Follow the steps below to enable
torque control.
1
Select the vector control.
Enable Vector Control by setting parameter A044 (1st Control Method) according to the
MX2/RX-series Inverter User's Manual.
2
Execute auto-tuning of the motor.
Perform auto-tuning of the motor parameters on the connected motor according to the
MX2/RX-series Inverter User's Manual. After auto-tuning, save the motor parameters into
inverter.
3
Configure the torque control.
Configure the torque control function according to the MX2/RX-series Inverter User's Manual.
4
Configure CompoNet.
Configure the CompoNet parameters according to 3-1-2 Remote I/O Settings Using Torque Ref-
erence on page 3-6.
5
Configure the multi-function input to enable torque control.
To enable torque control, you must set the Multi-function Input (C001 to C008) to 52 (Torque ref-
erence input permission) and turn it ON.
Turn ON the multi-function input configured via an external terminal or CompoNet Remote I/O.
Additional Information
For details about torque control, refer to Section 5-11 Torque Control of the MX2 User's Man-
ual (Cat. No. I570) and Section 6-9 Torque Control of the RX User's Manual (Cat. No. I578).
Disabling Torque Control
Torque control is disabled unless the Multi-function Input is set to 52 (Torque reference input permission).
Configuration of parameters related to torque control is unnecessary if toque control is disabled.
