Network Configuration

CompoNet communications start automatically just by connecting the communications wiring and turn-
ing ON the Master Unit (PLC) and inverters, and then the I/O Memory Areas of the CPU Unit and Slave
Units start sharing the data.
Each Slave Unit is fixedly allocated to the Special I/O Unit allocation relay areas of the CPU Unit in
order of node addresses.
For details about configuring the Master Units (Model: CJ1W-CRM21 and CS1W-CRM21), refer to the
CompoNet Master Units Operation Manual (Cat. No. W456).

EDS File Installation

For each combination of the MX2/RX-series Inverter model and the CompoNet Communications Unit, a
dedicated EDS file is required. EDS files provide the parameter data (defaults and ranges) for the
inverter that CX-Integrator utilizes.
EDS files for CompoNet Communications Units are installed on a CX-Integrator with the following ver-
sion or higher.
Note that EDS files are not installed on a CX-Integrator with a version lower than the following version.
Please update CX-ONE or CX-Integrator.

CompoNet Communications Network Configuration

CompoNet communications network can be configured by setting the allocation relay areas used by the
Master Unit and the node address of each Slave Unit. The following provides information on the config-
uration of a CompoNet communications network.
Setting Allocation Relay Areas
The Master Unit's allocation relay areas are determined by set-
tings of the Special I/O Unit number (Machine No.) and communi-
cations mode number (MODE) rotary switches.
When the communications mode is set to 0 to 3, Slave Units are
allocated to the Special I/O Unit allocation relay area of the CPU
Unit with the mounted CompoNet Master Unit.
When the communications mode is set to 8, Slave Units are allo-
cated to the allocation relay areas which are configured with the
network configuration tool CX-Integrator.
