Procedure
1. Run supportShow, which includes most of the information in the following table and more. Be sure to
record the location of the .txt files that you create in this procedure that are not called out in the
supportShow results. For detailed information about Fabric OS commands, refer to the Fabric OS
Command Reference. Use a checklist to ensure that all required information is recorded.

2. Open a telnet session and log into the device as admin. The default password is password. Enable the
logging function on your telnet or serial console connection.
3. Back up the current configuration by entering the configUpload -all. Enter the requested
information at the prompts.
Note: If you are using the Virtual Fabric feature, run configupload -vf before running the
configupload command to save the logical switch configuration.
This configUpload -all command uploads the device configuration to the customer-defined FTP
server, making it available for downloading. Alternatively, you can save the configuration file to a
USB device. For more information about this command, refer to the Fabric OS Command Reference.
