Is the network containing the web server connected to the mail server?
• Check using the PC/laptop on the same network by entering the following ping or
nslookup command:
ping <IP address mail server>
−
nslookup <IP address mail server>
−
Do the e-mail account data and the data of the ISP match, and are the data points
configured accordingly?
• Check the e-mail account data.
Can e-mails be sent via Microsoft Outlook from a PC/laptop on the same network?
• Check with ISP.
Do the security settings (firewall, mail server) allow for sending e-mails?
• Check with ISP.
If Steps 1 to 5 do not lead to success:
• Contact the network administrator or support DSL provider, support router
manufacturer, ISP.
