B.1.8 G1000 Software and Configuration Upload (GDU Software version 7.01 and later)
1. Using the FMS knob go to the System Upload page on the PFD.
2. Activate the cursor and highlight the appropriate airframe in the AIRFRAME field.
3. Press the ENT key.
4. Highlight the appropriate full configuration in the FILE field.
Loading the wrong software into GIA63/63W units may cause an inoperable condition that
is not covered by warranty. Refer to Section 4.3 of this manual to identify which type of GIA
63 (WAAS or Non-WAAS) is installed in the aircraft, and how to choose the correct WAAS or
Non-WAAS software file before loading GIA main software. Loading the incorrect software
may make the GIA 63 or GIA 63W inoperable and necessitate returning the unit to Garmin for
non-warranty repair. No warning appears if the wrong software is selected.
5. Press the ENT key.
6. Press the 'CHK ALL' softkey to select all loadable software and configuration files.
Pressing the ENT key will check and uncheck the highlighted software and configuration boxes.
7. Press the LOAD softkey.
8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 to load any other optional items.
9. When the upload is complete, press the ENT key to confirm.
10. Confirm that the software load was complete and accurate by following the instructions in Section B.1.7.
