B.1.3 GIA Software Upload (GDU software version 6.01 and earlier)
GIA v4.01 (or later) boot block software must be installed prior to upgrading to software versions
listed in this document. Refer to Section 4.3.1.1 for details on how to perform this update.
The GIA software version number displayed in the LRU Section of the SOFTWARE UPLOAD
Page does not refer to the boot block software version. Boot block software version can be
verified by highlighting the appropriate LRU on the MFD MAIN SYSTEM STATUS Page
during software uploads ("BBL" will be listed as the description).
1. Go to the SOFTWARE UPLOAD page using the FMS knob.
2. Activate the cursor and select the GIA software file. Verify that GIA1 and GIA2 appear in the LRU field
as shown:
3. Press the LOAD softkey.
4. Select YES and press the ENT key to acknowledge the following prompt:
5. The software for GIA1 begins to load. GIA2 software loads immediately after GIA1 software finishes
loading. Monitor the upload status as it progresses:
