8. Press the ENT key.
9. Press the CLR ALL softkey.
10. Using the FMS knob select the following files:

Pressing the ENT key will check and uncheck the highlighted software and configuration boxes.
11. Once the desired files are selected press the LOAD softkey.
12. Verify the correct part number and software version on the SYSTEM STATUS page.
13. If the AUDIO software load failed, load GIA Boot Block software per 4.3.1.2 and reattempt the GIA
software and configuration load starting back at line item 1 above.
For software/configuration troubleshooting see Section B.4. For Stormscope configuration see Section 4.3.6,
otherwise continue to Section 4.3.7.
Optional equipment configuration files must be loaded in order to enable the optional equipment.
See Appendix B.1.8 for instructions on how to load optional equipment files.
4.3.6 Stormscope Configuration (If Equipped)
1. Select the GIA page group on the PFD. The GIA RS-232/ARINC 429 Configuration Page appears by
default.
2. Select the appropriate GIA to be configured. Refer to aircraft-specific installation drawings to find out
which GIA is used to communicate with the Stormscope (In some cases, both GIAs may be used as
communication paths).
3. Activate the cursor and toggle to the appropriate GIA RS-232 input channel.
4. Use the FMS Knob to select 'WX-500' from the menu.
5. Acknowledge the selection by pressing the ENT key. Repeat Steps 2-5 for the opposite GIA, if required.
6. Configuration for the G1000-Stormscope interface is complete. Note that a new page group, labeled
'OTHER' appears. A Stormscope configuration page is now available in this page group to further
configure the Stormscope. Refer to the WX-500 installation manual for information on Stormscope post-
installation procedures.
