8. Remove:
- Retaining clip

- Dust seal

Take care not to scratch the inner tube.
9. Remove:
-Oil seal

-When removing the oil seal, place a rag on
the outer tube to prevent damaging the out-
er tube.
- Always replace the oil seal when disassem-
bling the f"ont fork.
INSPECTION
1. Inspect:
-Inner fork tube
-Outer fork tube
Scratches/ Bends/ Damage
-+
Replace.
WARNING:
Do not attempt to straighten a bent fork tube
as this may dangerously weaken the tube.
2. Measure:
- Fork spring free length

Out of specification-"Replace.
Fork Spring Free Length:
312 mm (12.3 in)
<Limit>:
307 mm (12.1 in)
