Perform Engine Maintenance

Engine specifications require that this procedure be
performed every 1000 hours.
Proper engine maintenance, following the engine
manufacturer's maintenance schedule, is essential
to good engine performance and service life. Failure
to perform the maintenance procedures can lead to
poor engine performance and component damage.
Required maintenance procedures and additional
engine information are available in the:
Deutz TD2011 Operation Manual
(Deutz part number 0312 3547) OR the
Perkins 804D-33 Operation and Maintenance
Manual (Perkins part number SEBU7853-00) OR
the Continental TME27 Owner's Manual
(Continental part number WM10303).

To access the engine:
1 Remove the engine tray retaining fastener
located under the engine tray. Swing the engine
tray out away from the machine and secure it
from moving.
Crushing hazard. Failure to install
the fastener into the engine tray
anchor hole to secure the engine
tray from moving could result in
death or serious injury.

Replace the Hydraulic Filters
Note: Genie requires that this procedure be
performed every 1000 hours or annually, whichever
comes first. Perform this procedure more often if
dusty conditions exist.
Replacement of the hydraulic filters is essential for
good machine performance and service life. A dirty
or clogged filter may cause the machine to perform
poorly and continued use may cause component
damage. Extremely dirty conditions may require
that the filters be replaced more often.
Note: Perform this procedure with the engine off.
Hydraulic return filter:

1 Open the ground controls side turntable cover
and locate the hydraulic return filter housing on
top of the hydraulic tank.

2 Remove the cap from the filter housing.
3 Lift the handle on the filter element and rotate

the element counterclockwise to release the
element from the housing.
4 Remove the filter element from the filter
housing.
5 Install the new filter element into the filter
housing.
6 Push the filter element down to be sure the
O-ring on the element is fully seated into the
housing.
7 Rotate the filter element clockwise to lock it in
place.

Bodily injury hazard. Beware of hot
oil. Contact with hot oil may cause
severe burns.
