Configuring PoE power mode using ACLI

The ERS 3510GT-PWR+ switch is able to operate in two Power over Ethernet (PoE) budget
modes:
• Fanless mode — Low Power Mode
• Normal mode — High Power Mode
The default is: High Power Mode (Normal mode).
In Fanless mode, the fan is shut down and will not be activated, despite the internal
temperature. To prevent the switch from overheating, the PoE budget is limited to 60 Watts.
Although the internal temperature may show as High in this mode, the ERS 3510GT-PWR+
switch has been designed to operate at temperatures about 60°C. When the switch is operating
in Fanless mode, diagnostic fan tests are not performed and the show environmental
command does not display details about the fan.
In Normal mode, the fan operates normally and is activated when the temperature reaches its
threshold. See
is not limited; a maximum of 170 Watts is available.
Use the following procedure to set the PoE operating mode to low (Fanless) or high (Normal)
power mode.
Procedure
1. Log on to ACLI in Global Configuration command mode.
2. At the command prompt, enter the following command:
