ATF Level Check
NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.
1. Warm up the engine to normal operating
temperature (the radiator fan comes on).
2. Park the vehicle on the level ground. Turn off the
engine.
3. Remove the dipstick (yellow loop) (A) from the
transmission, and wipe it with a clean cloth.

6. If the level is below the lower mark, pour the
recommended fluid into the filler hole to bring it to
the upper mark. Always use Honda ATF-Z1
Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF). Using a
non-Honda ATF can affect shift quality.
7. Insert the dipstick back into the transmission.
ATF Replacement
NOTE: Keep all foreign particles out of the transmission.
1. Bring the transmission up to operating temperature
(the radiator fan comes on) by driving the vehicle.
2. Park the vehicle on level ground, and turn the
engine off.
3. Remove the drain plug, and drain the automatic
transmission fluid (ATF).
NOTE: If a cooler flusher is to be used, refer to ATF
Cooler Flushing (see page 14-125).

4. Reinstall the drain plug with a new sealing washer,
then refill the transmission with the recommended
fluid into the filler hole to the upper mark on the
dipstick. Always use Honda ATF-Z1 Automatic
Transmission Fluid (ATF). Using a non-Honda ATF
can affect shift quality.
Automatic Transmission Fluid Capacity:
2.5 & (2.6 U S qt, 2.2 Imp qt) at changing
6.1 a (6.4 U S qt, 5.4 Imp qt) at overhaul
