Air M i x Control M o t o r Test
Air Mix Control Motor Replacement
1. Disconnect the 7P connector f r o m the air m i x
control motor.
2. Connect battery power to the No. 1 terminal of the
air m i x control motor, and g r o u n d the No. 2
t e r m i n a l ; the air m i x control m o t o r should r u n , and
stop at Max Cool. If it doesn't, reverse the
connections; the air m i x control motor should run,
and stop at Max Hot. If the air m i x control m o t o r
does not run, remove it, then check the air m i x
control linkage and door for s m o o t h m o v e m e n t .
• if the linkage and d o o r move smoothly, replace
the air m i x control motor.
• If the linkage or door sticks or binds, repair t h e m
as needed.

3. Measure the resistance between the No. 5 and
No. 7 terminals. It s h o u l d be between 4.2 k to 7.8 k
Q .
4. Measure the resistance between the No. 3 and
No. 5 terminals.
IVlax C o o l - 0 . 5 8 k to 109 k Q
Max Hot-3.52 k to 6.55 k Q
1. Disconnect the 7P connector (A) f r o m the air mix
control motor (B). Remove the rod (C) of the air mix
control motor f r o m the air m i x control linkage (D).
Remove the self-tapping screws and the air m i x
control motor f r o m the heater unit.
2. Install the motor in the reverse order of removal.
After installation, make sure the motor runs
smoothly.
