About This Guide
This guide assumes you have a familiarity with and basic understanding of your
Windows 3.1x or Windows 95 system. This includes understanding how to start
your system and navigate in your system. You should be familiar with common
Windows terms such as window, dialog box, button, icon, menu, application,
select, open, close, click, double-click, drag, list box, and drop-down list box.
For assistance in familiarising yourself with Windows, refer to your Microsoft
Windows user documentation.
A Windows 95 system was used to produce the illustrations used in this guide.
Although there are differences in the window title bar for Windows 3.1x, the
contents of a Desktop Manager window or dialog box are the same for both
Windows 3.1x and Windows 95.
Conventions Used in This Guide
The following types of formatting identify specific types of information provided
in this guide.
Chapter 1
An IBM or compatible computer with a 486DX or faster processor
Microsoft Windows 3.1x or Windows 95
At least 8 megabytes (MB) of RAM (16 MB recommended)
At least 17 MB of available hard disc space
A bi-directional, Centronics-compatible parallel cable 2 metres in length or
shorter. For help in purchasing the correct cable, consult your dealer or
retailer.
