Basic Operation and Features

3.3.1 ExSync, Edge-controlled Mode

When using the ExSync edge-controlled mode to control exposure, several guidelines must be
followed:
• ExSync must remain high for a minimum of 1 µs.
• ExSync must remain low for a minimum of 1 µs.
• When using full resolution, the minimum ExSync period is 2 ms for the A504

• If the AOI feature is used, the minimum ExSync signal period is equal to
1/Maximum Frame Rate where the maximum frame rate is determined by the suitable for-
mula in section 3.10.1.
Assuming that these general guidelines are followed, the reaction of the camera to a rising ExSync
signal will be one of three cases, which are described in sections 3.3.1.1,
The FlashOut signal can be set into a mode where it is high while the effective ex-
posure occurs, i.e. while the Integrate Enabled signal is high.
