❏ Apply the grease to the pad at the end of the grease tool.
7. Hold the grease tool against the secondary carriage rod and smoothly slide it twice from
one end to the other and back again as shown in Step 3.
8. Remove the stained pad, and then store the grease tool with the grease.
When disposing of used pads, cleaning sticks, and other items used to apply grease,
see "Disposal of Used Consumables" on page 179.
❏ Replace the cap to prevent foreign objects falling into the grease.
❏ Store the container at room temperature with the cap uppermost in a location that is
not exposed to direct sunlight.
