Computer Telephony Integration (CTI)
With the CTI function, you can for example use the Windows Phone Dialer
or the application "Xphone" as a CTI dialing aid for a BizIP 410 telephone.
Prerequisites
•
IP-Phone Telephony software (available as "CTI_Driver" on your prod-
uct CD and via the Internet from ftp://bizip.siemens.com). The software
includes the TAPI driver and offers its own configuration interface.
•
A PC connected to a HiPath BizIP LAN with the Windows 2000 or
Windows XP operating system.
Installation and configuration
1. Install the software on your PC. Once installation has been completed,
select the checkbox Add IP-Phone Telephony device.
2. The wizard for adding the device is launched. Click Next.
3. Under Device Name, enter a name for the device, for example
HiPath BizIP , and click Next.
4. Select the option
I wish to browse the network for telephony devices
and locate my particular device, and click Next.
5. Select the device with the required phone number from the list and
click Next.
6. Confirm the device assignment with Next and Finish .
Installation and configuration are now complete.
Using CTI (Example: Phone Dialer)
1. Start the Windows Phone Dialer (Start > Programs > Accessories
> Communications > Phone Dialer).
2. In the dialog window for the assigned device (in this example
HiPath BizIP), enter the telephone number (e.g. 22) in the field User-
name and the corresponding user password in the field Password. Se-
lect the checkbox Remember Password to save the access data.
3. If several TAPI providers are configured on the PC, go to Edit > Op-
tions and under Phone Calls select optiPoint 410 BizIP so that this line
can be used for dialing.
4. Click Dial, enter a valid phone number, select the option Phone Call
and click Dial again. You may have to enter some information regarding
telephone and modem settings. You will not be asked to enter this in-
formation again.
The assigned device dials the required number.
