REAR BRAKE ADJUSTMENT/BRAKE SHOE
INSPECTION/BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ADJUSTMENT
4.Adjust:
Brake pedal free play

Adjustment steps:
Turn the adjuster 1 in or out until the speci-

fied free play is obtained.
Turning in
Turning out Free play is increased.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the brake does not drag
after adjusting it.

5.Adjust:
Brake light switch

Refer to the "BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH
ADJUSTMENT" section.

BRAKE SHOE INSPECTION

1.Operate the brake pedal.
2.Inspect:
Brake shoes
G
Wear indicator 1 reaches the wear limit line
2 → Replace the brake shoes as a set.
Refer to the "REAR WHEEL AND REAR
BRAKE" section in CHAPTER 6.

BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH ADJUSTMENT

1.Check:
Brake light operation timing
G
Incorrect → Adjust.
2.Adjust:
Brake light operation timing

Adjustment steps:
Hold the main body 1 of the switch with your

hand so that it does not rotate, and turn the
adjuster 2 in or out until the proper opera-
tion timing is obtained.
Turning in
Turning out Brake light comes on slow.
