Applicable Parts
Chute Assembly Registration, PL 9.1.6
Fuser, PL 8.1.1
Feed Roller, PL 3.3.3
Transfer Roller, PL 8.1.12
Note
Identify the pertinent symptom by examination of media travel through the media
path, then follow the troubleshooting step associated with that symptom. Four
conditions are addressed in the following table:
The leading edge extends approximately 1.5 inches from the Registration
Chute. Start at Step 1.
The leading edge reaches the Fuser and may accordion fold at the Fuser
entrance. Start at Step 4.
A momentary, abnormal squealing noise is heard, immediately followed by a
Jam at Registration error message. This behavior indicates a Fuser stall
condition. A Fuser stall could result from the Fuser Drive's inability to
provide enough torque to turn the Fuser rollers following a period of Power
Saver mode, or low ambient operating temperatures (less than 20 C, 68 F).
Start at Step 7.
Note
Snippets are available for download from the Partner's web site to correct
Fuser Stalls caused by Fuser Drive ramp timing or low operating
temperatures. Indicate installation of the FMS snippet in the RID service
history text field.
The leading edge is accordion folded at the Turn Chute. Start at Step 12.
Remember to remove replacement parts installed during troubleshooting that did
not resolve the problem.
