In addition to performing a synchronization session, the Scout server is capable of updating
the Scout Sync Client on the SPT 1700 terminal. The update can occur under two
circumstances:
when the user initiates the update via the Scout Update client, and application

installed on an SPT 1700 terminal.
if the Scout server determines that the device's version of the Scout Sync Client is out-

of-date. The version is checked during a synchronization session. If the user initiates
the update, he/she is prompted for the IP address of the Scout server and a user
profile identification. If the update is initiated during a synchronization session, the
user is asked is he/she wishes to update the Scout Sync Client.
