Field Description
Check certificate Controls whether the hostname
hostname contained within the certificate
presented by the TMS service is
verified by the VCS. Default is Yes.
Base group The ID used to identify this VCS (or
VCS cluster) with the TMS service.
Authentication The username and corresponding
username and password used by the VCS to
password authenticate itself with the TMS
service.
Service-specific configuration
You can specify the connection details for each of the TMS Provisioning Extension services: Users, FindMe,
Phone books and Devices.
Connect to this Controls whether the VCS
service connects to the TMS service.
Default is No.
Polling interval The frequency with which the VCS
checks the TMS service for
updates. Defaults are:
FindMe: 2 minutes
Users: 2 minutes
Phone books: 1 day
The Device service polling
interval is set to 30 seconds and
cannot be modified.
Use the default Controls whether the service uses
connection the default connection
configuration configuration for TMS services.
Default is Yes.
A full and immediate resynchronization of all data between the VCS and TMS can be triggered at any time by
clicking Perform full synchronization (at the bottom of the of the
page). Note that this will result in a temporary (a few seconds) lack of service on the VCS while the data is
deleted and fully refreshed. If you only need to ensure that all of the latest updates within TMS have been
supplied to the VCS then click Check for updates instead.

Usage tips
If enabled, the certificate hostname (also known as
the Common Name) must match the specified Server
address. If the server address is an IP address, the
required hostname is obtained via a DNS lookup.
This only applies if Verify certificate is Yes.
The TMS administrator will supply this value.
The Base group ID used by the Devices service
must be explicitly specified as it is normally different
from that used by the other services.
If TLS encryption is not enabled, the authentication
password is sent in the clear.
If enabled, the status of the connection is shown to
the right of the field; this can be either Checking,
Active or Failed. Click details
information.
You can request an immediate update of all services
by clicking Check for updates at the bottom of the
page.
If No is selected, an additional set of connection
configuration parameters will appear. You can then
specify alternative connection details for the service
that will override those specified in the
connection configuration
